About UPchieve
UPchieve is an edtech nonprofit that provides free, 24/7 online tutoring and college counseling to low-income high school students in the U.S. Using our app, students can request and get paired with a live, volunteer tutor in under 5 minutes. Our mission is to democratize access to academic support so that all students, regardless of income, have an equal opportunity to finish high school, attend college, and achieve upward mobility. So far, we’ve matched 40,000+ on-demand tutoring requests from 10,000+ students across all 50 states. Our work has also been recognized by Forbes and TIME, and our funders include both Y Combinator and the Gates Foundation.

We’re a small team taking on the monumental challenge of democratizing access to academic support. That means we need team members who are excited by autonomy and willing to work on projects outside the scope of their job description if needed. Regardless of role, we also look for candidates who have a personal connection to our cause or a demonstrable interest in education or serving low-income populations.

  • We’re a remote-first team (in non-COVID times, we also have a dog-friendly office in Brooklyn, NY)
  • We highly value diversity of experiences and perspectives. 2/3 of the team are people of color, and many of us have personal experience growing up low-income or navigating nontraditional educational pathways

Job Description

We’re seeking a relationship-focused and detail-oriented individual to help build our corporate partnership program, a crucial part of UPchieve’s earned revenue strategy. You’ll be the account manager and thought partner for Fortune 500 companies that have partnered with UPchieve to engage their employees as volunteers on our platform. You’ll also make strategic improvements to the corporate partner and volunteer experience to increase satisfaction and ensure partners renew their contracts with UPchieve. Finally, you’ll learn about and engage with innovative CSR models and help create the future of private-public partnerships.

What you'll do:

  • Relationship management: Provide account management and thought partnership to UPchieve’s growing cohort of Corporate Partners. This includes developing and pitching ideas to clients to help them meet their volunteer engagement goals, providing data and trend analysis, and designing custom collateral and communications.
  • Process development: Improve and standardize how we manage Corporate Partner relationships start to finish—for example by creating template communications and agendas for various points in the partner lifecycle and generating more materials that partners can use to spread the word about our volunteer opportunity internally, like videos, fliers and draft emails.
  • Presenting: Create and lead compelling presentations and webinars at partner companies to recruit volunteers and increase engagement.
  • Content generation: Craft case studies and social media posts to feature partner stories and milestones and author thought-leadership blog posts on topics relevant to employee volunteering.
  • Volunteer engagement: Maintain an open channel of communication with corporate volunteers through regular surveys and one-on-one interviews, and represent the corporate volunteer perspective with UPchieve’s program and product teams.
  • Data analysis and utilization: Track and analyze corporate volunteer engagement across multiple fronts (e.g. sign-ups, sessions completed, and engagement with automated emails) and leverage insights to develop and execute projects that improve the volunteer experience.

  • You are passionate about, and preferably have a personal connection with UPchieve’s mission, education equity, and/or social justice.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 2+ years of work experience, including experience in a client-facing role in nonprofit programs or development/fundraising
  • Is organized and experienced in managing large projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrates excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills
  • (Bonus) Has experience with volunteer engagement and/or CSR
  • (Bonus) Demonstrated interest in education and/or social justice work
